Decades of artistic evolution on the streets of Austin, Texas have culminated in ATX Urban Art, a first-of-its-kind book showcasing the city’s graffiti, street art, murals, and mosaics from the 1950s to today. This book shines a spotlight on Austin artists at a time when the rapid growth of our city makes the preservation of the works from early pioneers and those carrying the torch today so important.

All four chapters will educate and inspire even the casual reader. Austin residents and visitors alike can gain a deeper understanding of the city as well as the visual artists and vandals behind the ever-evolving tapestry of urban art in our streets. The four chapters: Graffiti, Street Art, Murals, and Mosaics, will each include an introduction to the artform, some historical notes, insights into the various styles, explanations of the vernacular, and most importantly, dozens and dozens of spreads for our featured artists.

Their work is showcased in over 2000 images throughout ATX Urban Art, with many professionally photographed for this book and others sourced from never-before-seen artist archives. The photos nearly pop off the page thanks to the bright, eco-friendly soy ink printed on black pages, and the heavy FSC-certified paper reflects the significance this book holds for so many artists, Austinites, and more.

Brought to you by the artist and author J Muzacz and his tight-knit team of dedicated photographers and designers: Justin Ebel, Zoe Axelrod, and Tony Moreno, alongside dozens of valuable contributions from participating artists, photographers, and documentarians, ATX Urban Art promises to be the most definitive urban art book of our city for years to come.

Indiegogo & Beyond!

Our Indiegogo campaign ran from Friday, November 26 through Friday, January 14, and we raised over $45,000 during our time on Indiegogo.

We officially published ATX Urban Art in November 2022, and officially sold out only a year later in December 2023! Throughout this time, we founded 2324 Studios, which was initially opened as a pop-up along with the book launch, but it’s still flourishing over a year later. We’ve sold books in retailers all around Austin like BookPeople, Barrett’s Coffee, and Kinokuniya.

One of our favorite parts of this experience was getting to organize numerous ATX Urban Art gallery exhibitions, giving the artists featured in the book an outlet to promote and sell their work. Our largest exhibition at The Hive in the Bee Cave Hill Country Galleria showcased over 100 artworks from dozens of featured artists.
